SABAR FAMILY IN SCHOOLS
Batch Gueye, founder of Sabar Family, brings authentic West African performing arts to schools, specialising in Dance, Drumming, Singing, Storytelling, and Theatre.
Drawing on his Griot heritage and extensive experience as both performer and educator, Batch delivers dynamic workshops and residencies that immerse pupils in the traditional music, dance, and history of diverse West African tribes and ethnic groups.
Sabar Family programmes are engaging and inclusive, designed to deepen cultural understanding while nurturing creativity, confidence, and a strong sense of community—both inside the classroom and beyond.
“At the heart of his work is a commitment to preserving and sharing this rich cultural legacy, which Batch and his team of artists proudly bring to communities across the UK and internationally”
The Sabar Family Team has a comprehensive evaluation framework in place to monitor the outcomes of our educational programmes and ensure their continuous improvement. Please refer to our Sabar Family Youth Programme Impact Report, which demonstrates the positive impact of our West African Performing Arts Program on participants’ physical and mental well-being, learning, community cohesion, and connection to their cultural heritage.

Batch Gueye/Sabar Family is available to take half-day (£250) or whole-day (£450) bookings for schools across the UK and internationally.
Sessions can be tailor-made to suit your specific needs, with one-off workshops or long-term residencies available. Residencies culminate in a vibrant, high-energy performance celebrating students’ skills, creativity, and cultural learning, featuring collaboration with expert artists from the Sabar Family team, and open for the whole school and wider community to enjoy.
Batch works closely with you to plan a timetable that fits your school. He can work with groups of up to 35 students, with sessions suitable for KS1 up to Sixth Form and college, as well as Specialist Education Needs schools. Timetabling should allow for at least one hour of contact time per group.
Batch Gueye and his team at Sabar Family offer a holistic and culturally rich performing arts education, combining movement, rhythm, voice, and narrative to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences for all ages.
